No. 35 is a striking residential scheme designed to bring a bright and contemporary feel to a home rooted in classic architectural character. Johnson Tiles supplied the floor and wall tiles specified throughout the property by Kavita Dhande and Thomas Brooks chosen to balance everyday usability with a luxurious aesthetic. The brief called for a scheme that felt timeless and enduring but with a modern edge, avoiding anything too heavy, warm-toned or grey underfoot, while still bringing personality to the walls.
Throughout the floors, our Refine tiles were specified in a large 600x600mm format, offering a slip-resistant and practical surface that doesn't feel purely functional. The soft, off-white tone ‘Dune’ was chosen to create an open and welcoming feel that responds beautifully to the changing light throughout the day. Across the walls, Barbrook tiles in Mint were specified in the small-format 250x50mm strip, finished in gloss to reflect the overall scheme combining contemporary finishes with traditional features. The handmade feel of the tile along with the subtle variation in colour and format, brought texture and a sense of authenticity to the space while the mint tone paired with crisp white grout keeps the finish fresh and light.
"Refine was an easy choice for the floors. We needed something slip-resistant and practical underfoot that could handle everyday life without compromising on style. It gave us that inviting, luxurious feel we wanted throughout the home. “For the walls, we were drawn to the mint tone of Barbrook straight away. It felt full of personality, while still keeping that classic charm we wanted to hold onto," said Kavita Dhande. Together, the two ranges bring a considered balance of practicality and character to No. 35, creating a home that feels welcoming and true to its traditional roots, while embracing a distinctly contemporary edge.
