Kenneth Grange: Making Britain Modern exhibition at the Design Museum
The Design Museum will be holding the first UK retrospective showcasing the remarkable work of Kenneth Grange.
Known as Britain’s leading product designer, Grange is responsible for a series of products, which all of us have encountered, used or interacted with at one point or another over the past 50 years.
From Parker pens, Kodak Instamatic cameras and Kenwood food mixers to the re-designed London black cab and the Royal Mail rural post box – these are just a few of his well-known designs, not to mention a vast array of furniture and lighting.
Grange also co-founded Pentagram, a world-renowned multi-disciplinary design consultancy in the early ‘70s with Theo Crosby, Colin Forbes and Mervyn Kurlansky.
The exhibition – which is due to take place between 20 July and 30 October - will display over 150 products, prototypes, sketches as well as audio, photography and film showcasing Grange’s prolific influence in making Britain modern.
